MIKE PLYMSOL    BSc FRICS FBEng

Director

Mike Plymsol qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1981 and went on to be elected as a Fellow of both the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and Association of Building Engineers. He became a Director of Grove Millican in 1999 and has managed the practice for the last five years.

He has wide ranging experience of project management, building and quantity surveying appointments across most sectors, together with more specialist areas such as expert reports, insurance related work and acting as Party Wall Surveyor. He specialises in the management of more complex projects for both private and public sector clients.


MIKE CATT    MCIAT MCIWM CEnv

Associate Director

Mike Catt has over 40 years' experience in the construction industry, in both the private and public sectors. He was awarded membership of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (formerly SAAT) in 1977 and has pursued a wide ranging architectural career, which has included detailed involvement in the commercial, residential and industrial sectors.

Whilst working closely with the waste management industry in the 1990s in the construction of waste disposal and recycling facilities he developed a particular interest in environmental matters which led to him securing Chartered Environmentalist status. In parallel, his interest in Health and Safety has resulted in numerous appointments as Planning Supervisor and latterly CDM Co-ordinator under the CDM Regulations.


BEN COLLINS     BSc MRICS

Associate Director

Ben Collins graduated with a building surveying degree in 1999 and went on to be elected a Chartered Surveyor in 2001. Acting for a range of public sector, private and commercial clients Ben initially gained a solid experience base in traditional building surveying duties.

More recently he has become increasingly involved in project delivery. Acting in the roles of contract administrator and employer's agent/project manager under a variety of contract forms, as well as project monitoring under development agreements, Ben has been involved from feasibility through to hand-over. Many of these appointments have developed from an earlier involvement providing surveying and asset management consultancy. Ben's experience also extends to the roles of CDM coordinator and Party Wall surveyor.


JOHN MASSON    BSc MRICS

Senior Surveyor

John Masson became a Chartered Surveyor in 1976, having obtained a degree in Building Economics and joined Grove Millican in 1994.

He has extensive experience across a wide variety of projects in all construction sectors both as Quantity Surveyor and Building Surveyor. For the last 15 years he has gained specialist knowledge in the field of insurance claims, and has worked with many of the UK's leading insurers and loss adjusters.


DAVID STOBIE     Tech.RICS

Surveyor

David Stobie became a Member of the Society of Surveying Technicians in 1972 and subsequently, a Technical Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

He has over 40 years of wide ranging experience in the building industry, particularly in the areas of architecture and surveying, where he has undertaken design and management projects in all fields of development from inception to completion. He joined Grove Millican in 1995 and has expanded his areas of expertise to include condition surveys, insurance claims and the role of Party Wall Surveyor.


NEIL McELLISTRIM       BSc(Hons) PgDip

Assistant Surveyor

Neil McEllistrim was awarded an honours degree in Business Management in 2002 followed by a post-graduate diploma in building surveying in 2004. He is currently approaching completion of his RICS Assessment of Professional Competence which will lead to his election as a Chartered Surveyor.

Neil benefited from five years surveying experience with a local authority asset management department before joining Grove Millican to further develop his professional expertise. He initially acquired varied experience on a range of maintenance, repair and renewal contracts and more recently this has been supplemented with involvement on new build projects together with professional surveying duties such as condition surveys and Party Wall work.
